Donna Krech Review

Donna Krech is noted for her versatility: a renowned fitness trainer and at the same time a motivational speaker and author. She packs over 25 years experience in the weight loss and fitness industry. She is also a respected media personality who has hosted several national TV shows.

You’re right: Ms Krech is more popularly known for the fun ways she employs to help people lose weight permanently. But it is her ability to motivate her audience to voluntarily get involved in the whole process that has marked her out in the weight loss industry.

And we really don’t expect any less from anyone who’s shared the stage with such personalities as Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, and other top motivators. Thus, despite her primary niche which is the weight management field, Donna Krech is definitely an expert in the business of motivational speaking in her own right.

Entering the fitness and weight management business in the early 1980s, Ms Krech has observed all the highs and lows of this exciting, and sometimes frustrating field. She has seen what works and what doesn’t, what motivates people to work at losing weight and what discourages them, why some lose and regain the lost weight and how to lose it for good.

Drawing on that 30-year experience, Donna has developed a cutting-edge, ahead-of-the-pact program that enthusiastically involves the audience as they come to understand the true solution to permanent and beneficial weight loss.

Her Thin&Healthy licensing program has seen millions around the world lose millions of pounds. And as she often states, her goal isn’t just to help people lose weight, but to help them learn the lifestyle that would make it unnecessary for them to need to lose weight again.

This is the proven methods that she has taught to over 1500 audiences in more than 26 countries. And if you are aware that over 97% of those who lose weights through the commercial weight loss organizations often gain them back, you’ll appreciate Donna Krech’s novel idea.

Moreover, her animated, energetic, and positive and passionate manner of speech delivery often captivates every audience. Isn’t it true that how we say things is as important as what we say? Ms. Krech reaches out to her audiences in ways that truly move them to action.

Which is why her 75 Thin&healthy locations continues to attract more and more weight loss enthusiasts who have continued to see their dreams come true in more ways than one.

A visit to her website and blog easily demonstrates that Donna Krech doesn’t necessarily have her eyes in your pocket. Based on the resources I found there, it would seem that above all else, she genuinely desires to help people improve various aspects of their lives—including their mentality.

Thus, Donna Krech’s teachings isn’t all about wealth and health.
For example, she lists “Blessings In Burdens” as among the things we all should embrace. She explained this to mean that without the difficulties and adversities that we all encounter every now and then, there would be no basis for faith. Difficulties and adversities, she said, strengthened her own faith and self-belief.

She therefore advised her audience to see opportunities in what appears to be only obstacles. She also cautions against living a life that lacks meaning, a purposeless life. Above all, Donna Krech encourages us all to live in such a way as to leave a good legacy behind.

Johns Hopkins CANCER Update

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY
IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (‘TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD)
TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING
TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients
that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable
size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer
cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and
forming tumors. (This is where Isagenix has a great impact).

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic,
to environmental, food and lifestyle factors. (This is where Isagenix has a great impact).

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing
diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune
system. (This is where Isagenix has a great impact).

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing
cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells
in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can
cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of
chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor
destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from
chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either
compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb
to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to
mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other
sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply. (This is where Isagenix has a great impact).

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off
one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar
substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made
with Aspartame and it is harmful.

A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting
off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer
cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken
rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock
antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer..

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole
grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into
an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked
food including beans.

Fresh vegetable juices provide live
enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most
vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw
vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high
caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer
fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or
filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the
intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic
buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By
refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes
to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the
body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system
(IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy
cancer cells.. Other supplements like vitamin E are known
to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s
normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior
be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put
the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to
have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated
environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to
get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer
cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3.. No plastic wrap in microwave..

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. . This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.

Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.

He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat… He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

Why Cultivate a Culture of Health and Wellness

Health is Wealth, so goes the old adage. Now, with more ailments than ever to contend with, and with healthcare costs and insurance premiums continually rising beyond the reach of the average citizen, more and more persons are beginning to see the wisdom in that old adage. It is not uncommon to see families spending up to $1000 on health insurance each month.

In just five years, that will add up to $60,000, which is a sizable investment. Worse still, that amount doesn’t guarantee that the family’s general sense of health and well-being will improve over the 5-year period.

Indeed much of what we call “healthcare” may better be described as “sickcare,” because for the most part, they’re merely emergency responses we get from physicians when a person is already down with one ailment or the other! And to make matters worse, the so-called healthcare system itself is gradually showing signs of systemic failure.

Should we also add that many health issues today are simply beyond the remedy of our once “trusted” physicians? To exonerate themselves, physicians now conveniently classify such health problems as “degenerative diseases”. How smart they are!

Truth is that back at medical school, doctors and their colleagues were not trained to stop you from falling ill. Their calling is to cure or heal you when you do fall ill. So if you’re going to stay healthy, it’s largely up to you! The habit of relying on your family doctor for good health is an idea that’s fast going out of fashion. More and more persons are now taking responsibility for their own health and well-being.

Indeed, your health is in your hands. By adopting a culture of health and wellness in your daily living, you’ll stay healthier and need medical attention far less often. It starts with what you do on a daily basis. Besides constantly watching what goes into your mouth and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle, you must commit yourself to a health plan.

You may design it into a 6-months, 1-year, or even 5-year personal health plan. Depending on specific areas of your health you’re most motivated to address, your health plan may include hiring a wellness coach. This will cost some money, but the health benefits are well worth whatever it costs you. Wellness Coaches are good at helping to cultivate the right attitudes and behaviors that produce the greatest results.

They will also help you develop the type of action plan that will be easier to stick to. Wellness coaching programs are also available online. But it is important that you commit yourself to whichever is recommended for the goal you desire to achieve.

The beauty of cultivating a culture of health and wellness in your lifestyle is that it serves as preemptive measures towards illnesses. It also leaves you with the liberating feeling that you’re in charge of your health and your life.

And if you practice it daily, it soon becomes a part of the fabric of your life—more like your culture. And what better habits to form than those that enable us to live healthier, happier lives!

As more and more health problems continue to ravage our world, there’s wisdom in taking your health and well-being into your own hands rather than relying on what government and physicians can offer.

You can achieve good health by adopting enlightened Self-care Health and Wellness practices. Cultivating a culture of health and wellness may prove to be the best habit you ever formed!

Ways to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

How does one maintain a healthy lifestyle? At first glance, the question seems simple enough. But try asking up to 20 persons that question, and chances are the answers you’ll get will depend on who you ask, especially what part of the world the person comes from.

Sure, everybody wants to enjoy good health. But good health means different things to different persons. Some think that good health simply means the absence of illness. But others believe it goes deeper than that. So really, only you can say what good health means to you based on where you live and your peculiar circumstances in life.

Nevertheless, much of what will guarantee you a healthy lifestyle begins with you. Yes, someone once said that a healthy lifestyle begins even before a person is born—right from conception. There’s some merit in that assertion too. After all, health experts identify environment, lifestyle, and GENETICS as the three pillars on which our health rests.

So we cannot totally rule out the impact that hereditary factors (genetics) can play in the health status of an individual. But whereas the last factor on that list is beyond your control, there is a lot you can do to maintain a healthy, prosperous lifestyle by controlling the other two factors—your environment and your lifestyle.

In fact even in the case of inherited ailments, research has shown that with sensible changes in lifestyle and the environment, a lot can be done to manage certain inherited diseases like diabetics, asthma, and the like.

So it all comes down to how you live, your lifestyle. Very few persons, if any, have ever achieved good health by chance. A healthy and Prosperous life requires deliberate efforts on your part. The more efforts you put into it, the more health benefits you’ll reap.

Where do you begin? For starters, try and eliminate cigarettes, refined sugars, saturated fats, and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages. We know that so-called health experts often contradict themselves when it comes to what constitutes inordinate consumption of some of these items.

But the regularity with which these things have been fingered in a number of health problems suggests that anybody who takes their health seriously should watch how they use these things.

And in the case of cigarettes, there’s simply no safe amount!
Also limit your exposure to chemical-based household cleansing preparations as well as personal care products—air fresheners, deodorants, toothpastes, shampoos, etc.

If you must use any of these, it’s better to go for natural alternatives—such as those produced by food and nutrition companies and distributed through network marketing.

Additionally, regardless of your occupation, avoid an overly sedentary lifestyle. Try and engage in activities that make you break some sweat. Exercise is good for nearly all parts of your body—your heart, muscles, bone mass, complexion, as well as your general physique.

You may consider joining a fitness group to keep you motivated and consistent. And as much as possible, try remove or reduce stressful situations from your life. Stress is a great enemy of good health.

In deed, it is only when we are healthy that we feel it’s good to be alive. Only then can we carry on with daily activities. But good health will not happen by chance. You’ll have to work to achieve it and maintain it. But you’ll agree that any effort made to keep you healthy is well worth it.

Lower Your Cholesterol Level: Things To Avoid

Is your Cholesterol level to high? About half of all American adults have cholesterol levels categorized as high. That means there’s a high probability that yours may just be higher than you think.

So if you haven’t had yours checked recently, don’t ignore it any further. Why? Because heart-related diseases are the number one killer of both men and women in America and most other industrialized countries. And most are traceable to high cholesterol.

If your fears are confirmed and you do have high cholesterol, do not panic, it can easily be taken care of, especially when detected early enough. Naturally your doctor may put you on cholesterol-lowering prescriptions, mostly medications. Obey them. But more importantly, pay special attention to the tips contained in this article you’re reading.

Because research has shown that by eating the right types of food, getting sufficient exercise, and generally taking good care of yourself, you could cut your risk of dying from cholesterol-induced diseases by more than 80 percent.

But first, let’s tell you a little about cholesterol. There’s nothing mysterious about them. Put simply, cholesterol is that wax-looking substance that is naturally produced by the body—found in both humans and animals.

They are of two types—the High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL, considered as the good cholesterol) and the Low-Density Lipoprotein, or LDL (the “bad” cholesterol).

The quantity and type of it produced will depend on the type of foods you eat and your metabolic rate. The LDL type takes cholesterol into your arteries. Over time, the quantity accumulates, clogging the arteries and eventually leading to heart attacks, strokes and so on.

On the other hand, the HDL category carries cholesterol away from the arteries and takes it to your liver where it’s disposed off in form of bile.

Now, if you have a high cholesterol level, the first thing you’ll need to do is to watch your diet. Numerous findings have proven that by eliminating or at least drastically limiting the foods you eat that contain saturated fats, trans fats, dietary cholesterol, and refined carbohydrates, you’d almost certainly drive down your cholesterol levels by an incredible 90 percent.

Saturated fats are found in most animal-based foods, such as meats, butter, and whole-milk dairy products like yogurt, cheese, and ice cream. Poultry skin and palm oil are also high in saturated fats. Studies have shown that replacing saturated fat with monounsaturated types of fat such as olive oil or nuts will drastically reduce the accumulation of the bad (i.e. LDL) cholesterol.

Cholesterol-rich diets include egg yolks, shellfish, liver, and other organ meats. It’s true that this category of fats does not harm the body as much as Trans fats and saturated fats. Still, if you truly want to maintain a firm hold on your cholesterol level, it’s good to avoid or drastically limit your consumption of these food items.

Then there are trans fats. These are found in most factory-processed foods—margarines, most baked goods, potato chips, snacks, fried foods, and fast foods. Calorie for calorie, trans fats are even more dangerous that the other two types discussed earlier. It’s been calculated that a single serving of French fries contains some 45 calories worth of LDL cholesterol.

Guess what happens when you make that a part of your daily diet? You’d have succeeded in doubling your chances of developing a heart disease in just a matter of time! So in truth, there’s no safe amount of trans fats permissible for anybody aiming to lower their cholesterol level.

But reducing your cholesterol level is not limited to things to avoid. There are of course things you would have to do—food types to choose from and lifestyle changes to make.

Does Your Wealth Determine Your Health?

Wealth doesn’t necessary bring good health. But there’s an obvious correlation, and maybe you’ve noticed it. While it’s true that most successful persons tend to show greater concern for their health than those who are further down the economic ladder, we do have numerous evidences around us proving that there are exceptions.

But the good news is that you can achieve both—health, wealth and all the happiness that come with having both. Indeed, true satisfaction in life only comes when we have a reasonably fat bank account and the good health to enjoy it, don’t you agree?

I’ll use this short article to point out several simple, easy-to-do changes we can all make in our daily routine to help us achieve good Health and reasonable Wealth. And it won’t be the things you’re used to hearing!

The first thing to note is that it makes financial sense to take good care of your health. The moment you start making deliberate efforts to look after your body, you’ll soon begin to feel better with yourself. That feeling in turn energizes you and affects all areas of your life. People who eat healthier diets surely have healthier bodies and mind.

In turn, a healthier mind is better able to concentrate on important things—including your business or finances. Isn’t it true that we find it hard to think straight when we are bugged down by nagging ailments? At such times, your health becomes your major focus. And how do you suppose it affects your approach to business matters? They take the back seat, and your finances suffer!

That’s on the one hand. On the other hand, unhealthy diets also affect your finances in other ways. Typically you spend extra bucks each day on junk foods and super-size helpings, which only pile up excess calories and lots of lost income in the course of several decades.

If only people could’ve saved those six to ten bucks spent on junk foods each day and invested them at 5% interest per annum! They’ll be richer at retirement, and what is more, they’ll have leaner bodies and fatter bank accounts!

Did we mention the extra medical costs that accompany unhealthy eating habits? Let’s not even get started. There is overwhelming evidence that overweight individuals and all those who don’t take health and wellness seriously tend to have more doctor visits, take longer to recover from illness, and naturally pay more medical bills. You surely know that overweight and obese people cannot get inexpensive life insurance coverage, don’t you?

You can change a lot about your health and finances by adopting a sensible nutrition and wellness goal. It could be as simple as drinking 6-8 glasses of water each day to ensure you stay hydrated and guarantee your liver and kidneys have enough fluid to aid filtration of impurities. Also, eat smaller portions but several meals each day.

Select most of your snacks from fresh fruits and nuts, vegetables too. Weave in fitness routine throughout the day, such as by starting your day with brisk 10-minute workout, or press-ups, or power walk.

Studies show that larger people generally make less money than their trimmer peers. And the reasons are many. Taking care of your body now will lead very soon to better finances. So, even if money were your only reason for caring about health and wellness, then I hope this article motivates you to take action now.

Having less money due to health issues you could have prevented just doesn’t make any sense. Plus, when you do achieve financial success, it’s sweeter when you’re healthy!

Why You Must Detoxify Your Body!

Are you Detoxifying your body on a daily basis? Do you want a more nimble physique, a sharper brain, a more relaxed mind and above all, a healthier you? And do you desire to achieve all these without having to visit any sort of physician? By eliminating toxins from your body and then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, you will achieve a level of health you never thought was possible.

Detoxification greatly boosts your immune system by making your internal organs work better. This in turn helps to protect you from a number of diseases, renews your vitality, and helps you to maintain an overall feeling of being well.

Our environment is full of toxins. It has always been so, because even natural food sources can constitute toxins as they are processed by various enzymes in the body. But the matter has simply grown worse in recent decades with the development of synthesized drugs and food flavors. The human body is thus constantly bombarded with substances that often leave the organs overworked and compromised.

It is no surprise then that toxins have been implicated in a number of illnesses and health conditions that leave a person feeling listless and lethargic. Skin problems, aches and pain, gastrointestinal disorders, sleeplessness, strange weight issues, constipation, and numerous other health conditions have all been linked to the presence of toxins in the body—especially when these stubbornly refuse to respond to usual remedies.

Detoxification has long been practiced in china and other ancient cultures. It basically means cleansing the body, especially the blood, by removing impurities from such body organs as the liver, kidneys, intestines, lymph and the skin.

The body also eliminates toxins through the lungs. When these organs are working at their optimum, illnesses will be fewer, because they serve as the body’s own natural healing system. But when they’re weakened by impurities, toxins will not be properly filtered. And they become a nuisance to all parts of the body.

In addition, many people just don’t take in enough water to help rid the kidneys of accumulated toxins. Most also habitually eat diets that are low in natural fiber. This could cause irregular bowel movements and contribute to the accumulation of toxins in the colon. Even for a naturally healthy person, unchecked toxin load can gradually overwhelm the human body, leading to various illnesses.

That is why you need to detoxify your body regularly. Experts recommend that every adult should detoxify their body at least once a year. A detox expert Linda Page, N.D., PhD suggests that those who regularly experience unexplained fatigue, sluggish elimination, irritated skin, various allergies as well as minor infections should try detoxifying their body for a change. Same thing goes for people having menstrual difficulties or mental confusion.

But nursing mothers, little children, as well as patients with chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer and tuberculosis should exercise strong caution before embarking on any detox program. Generally, you should consult your doctor if you have any doubts that detoxification might not be right for your peculiar health condition.

But on the whole, detoxification has repeatedly been proven to strengthen the body’s ability to fight diseases. This is mainly because it clears the pathways for various body organs, enabling them not only to filter, but also to eliminate detected radicals—toxins—from the body, leaving the person feeling fresher and revitalized.

What is Nutritional Cleansing? Many would agree with the age-old dictum: “you are what you eat.” As a result, worldwide, there are thousands of health-food shops and the so-called bio-shops (these are stores that sell biologically-grown foods produced without the use of chemicals or chemical fertilizers).

Germany alone is reputed to have no less that 4000 health-food shops and 2000 bio-shops. Many individuals everywhere also believe that vitamin pills are important to their health. All these highlight the growing concern toward staying healthy. And yes, there’s a lot that each individual can do in this regard.

Sensible eating habits will go a long way in helping a person to achieve good health. These include getting sufficient vitamins and trace minerals. Many persons need additional supplies of either or both of these elements. Dr. Jean Mayer, a Harvard nutritionist, once stated that “the U.S. diet is often much lower in iron than are the diets of poorer populations.” Again, iron is not the only nutrient lacking in the diet of most Americans.

Thus, due to what could be termed “poor” diet, many people end up polluting their internal system and rendering themselves susceptible to many preventable and sometimes degenerative diseases. So, what if your internal environment is rife with toxins? There are ways to clean it up.

Generally, the best foods that cleanse the body are those that are easily digested—those that spend the least time in your bowels. This is because digestion tasks your body a lot. And the time spent doing that job reduces what time the body has left to cleanse itself, especially since you’ll soon eat again!

Among the best foods in cleansing your body are Leafy Vegetables. Eating sufficient amount of leafy vegetables have a high value both from the point of view of nutritional physiology and the maintenance of man’s health in the form of preventive medicine.

This is because vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals. They are also rich in iron, which makes them effective against anemia. And what is more, this class of food helps neutralize the acids in the blood. They also have an effect on the kidneys that stimulate the elimination of wastes or toxins.

Fresh, raw vegetables help your body in two ways: they stimulate your body’s natural enzymes to action, making the enzymes to digest other foods faster, while at the same time cleansing your internal system.
Next in this category of cleansing foods are Tomatoes, Apples, Sauerkraut and Onions.

This group has an alkalizing effect on the internal system. Fresh fruits have always been known as among the best natural cleansers. The exact way this happens is still not fully understood by medical science.

But what is certain is that fruits are rich in vitamin water that helps the body to flush out waste products. And just recently, it’s been found that onions and certain mushrooms are particularly helpful in combating cholesterol in the blood.

Foods that are rich in EFAs (essential fatty acids) are also known to be helpful in this regard. They’re reputed to help cleanse the body of harmful cholesterol. Foods in this category include Walnuts, Tuna Fish, Salmon, Cashews, Avocados, Flax Oil, and Olive Oil.

Toxicity and Obesity: There’s A Link!

Has the relationship between toxicity and obesity has been found?

Why is it that some persons have problems losing weight beyond a certain point, no matter how hard they try? What is it in modern man that appears to hinder weight loss and obstruct normal metabolism?

Is it possible that as fat in the body is metabolized and pollutants are released from the fat tissues where they are stored, certain foreign chemicals cause a lowering of the body’s metabolic rate?

These are medical puzzles that are just now beginning to be seriously investigated, especially in the light of the measures-defying obesity problems confronting most industrialized countries today. But although we still have much to learn about the exact link between toxicity and obesity, the growing body of evidence has become such that we can no longer ignore the effect that environmental toxins have on Weight Gain and the difficulty encountered by some in losing same.

Although losing weight to reduce the risk of cardiovascular and similar diseases is often considered very desirable, recent findings suggest that it could also be creating a very toxic situation for the sufferer. In the light of what we now know, it would seem that severely overweight persons should first follow a detoxification program prior to weight loss regime, or at least both must go hand in hand.

This latest conclusions are based on sound footings. For example, hormones can increase or reduce appetite in both humans and animals. Meanwhile toxins have always been known to alter hormonal levels in the body, and hence the hormonal regulation of weight.

Also, toxins are known to alter thyroid hormone metabolism rate and receptor function, which in turn leads to lowered metabolic rate (which equals weight gain). Further, toxins can also influence weight through increases in inflammation.

The signals that are produced by inflammation stimulate leptin resistance in the body. The other effects of toxins in the body include interfering with the liver’s control of fat and glucose metabolism.

As stated earlier, researches aimed at establishing a direct link between environmental toxins and obesity are still in their infancy stages. But the direction of things is unmistakable. At the moment, detoxification is gradually gaining wide acceptance in mainstream medical practice in the management and control of obesity.

Many physicians now view detoxification as a central component in any long-term and effective weight management program. On the other hand, there appears to be a general consensus that most medications sometimes prescribed for weight management have a high chance of producing toxic effects and triggering weight gain.

At the moment, billions of dollars continue to pour into obesity drug research in a bid to find that “magic molecule” that will burn fat or at least reduce appetite. For now, all that medical science can say for sure in this regard is that medications can affect our weight and may play a role in obesity for some individuals.

This has led to the inescapable conclusion that, if medications can manipulate weight, then so too can other foreign chemicals that enter the body, such as environmental toxins. Before now, most researchers had largely ignored the effects of environmental chemicals on metabolism.

But in the light of what is now known about toxins, not a few have begun connecting the dots linking toxins with our obesity epidemic. While we await a more conclusive verdict, the factors outlined above can no longer be overlooked. Nor should you overlook the effects of environmental toxins if you’re obese!

ARE YOU TOXIC?
